Riley and His Favorite Toy

I got the camera out tonight for a bit when I first got home and snapped a few photos of Riley.  He's really growing.  Lots of energy!  He was playing with his favorite toy . . . he loves that thing!

Orijen Food and a Riley Update

Hello blog world!  Things have been busy around our household.  Riley is growing, growing, growing.  When we got him a few weeks ago, he weighed 2.2 lbs.  Last week he weighed in at 4.3 lbs.  That's a big difference!  He's sleeping longer at night but we're still up a couple times of night with him.  His bladder just can't hold it until morning.  We will be really happy when he can go all night without a bathroom break!  It's like having a new baby!

Riley had his photo made this past week.  Karen Powell took family photos and Riley did great.  We should have some proofs to look at soon.  I'll make sure and post a link.

We also decided to try a different feed called Orijen.  It comes highly recommended (albeit not cheap).  I'll let you know how Riley does on it.  He's probably eating better than we are.

Riley on a Sunday

Riley spent most of the afternoon hanging out with Heather.  I guess that was his way of saying "Happy Mother's Day."  Heather crocheted while Riley laid on the afghan and nibbled at the yarn she was using.  Then, he had a big nap!  Sounds like a good way to spend a Sunday to me!

A Dog's Day

Riley has had a good day.  He started off with an 8 a.m. appointment at our vet.  He received his next set of vaccinations and had a checkup.  He seems to be doing really well.  He's gained almost one pound in the past week and now weighs in at slightly over three pounds.  The vet's office must have been exhausting because Riley went to sleep as soon as we got home.

Tonight, he went with us to run a couple of errands.  He's still too young to let him around other dogs or even where other dogs have been but he's still having a good time even if he didn't get to leave the confines of the car.

Right now, he's asleep on Heather.  I think that's a good way to end the day.

Nap Time

Riley is an expert at naps!  This nap followed play time!  I gave up and joined him later.  If you look close, you can see him sticking out his tongue, ever so slightly.  He likes doing that.  I think sometimes he forgets that it's sticking out of his mouth.  Very funny!

Riley is Home!

We picked up Riley this morning at 9 a.m. from Julie!  He's had a good day so far.  We got settled in at home a few minutes ago and have taken a short nap after Riley had some food and water.  He was a hungry guy!

And of course . . . we took photos and a video.  We'll put the video up later so check back!
